I have been writing professionally for over 15 years, as a communications strategist, journalist and author. I've spent the majority of my career helping governments communicate with the people they represent.
Through D. M. Ditson Writes, I help you tell your stories, connect with your audience and reach your objectives.
My memoir Wide Open is my story about post-traumatic stress disorder and recovery. Before publication, Wide Open won the 2017 John V. Hicks prize, awarded by the Saskatchewan Writers’ Guild. It also won a 2020 Saskatchewan Book award and a Columbia Basin Trust artist grant.
I earned a journalism degree and a public-relations certificate from the University of Regina.
I'm from Regina, Saskatchewan and now live in Nelson, British Columbia, where I spend my time writing, climbing mountains and camping with my sweetie and our cat.
